marsee-mug-082107.jpgThere’s something special about high school sports, and there’s definitely something special about covering them. Whether it’s a state championship football game or a Tuesday afternoon baseball game, there’s always an interesting story. I started writing those stories in high school, a few years after I gave up trying to hit a jump shot and not long after I realized I couldn’t hit a curve ball. (I might have had a chance in football, but Jackson County High School didn’t have a team.) Most of my stories in the years since have been about high school sports, and I’ve never grown tired of writing about them. High school sports have also been a major part of The Advocate-Messenger for decades, and I hope this blog will supplement that coverage with information, insight and a little fun.
